Receipt books, 1812-1832.

Two receipt books: v. 1, 7 February 1812-13 August 1825 of receipts for lumber "for making boxes," for "stuffing a sofa" and cherry and maple wood; v. 2: 10 November 1825-10 October 1832 of receipts for county and health taxes, carpenter work, hickory and oak wood, marble work, his daughter Hannah's tuition and for "keeping his horse at livery."

Colonel Thomas E. Williams had a Marine Corps career that stretched from 1941-1962. He was in the Pacific during World War II, and then he was assigned to Europe. He assumed his first major Cold War command of the Camp Matthews weapons training regiment in 1956. He was posted to China, Europe, and the Army War College.
